Get the best property insurance coverages for your needs

Below are some of property insurance products that we offer:

Condo:
Condo insurance protects what your association won’t!
Condo associations have master insurance policies that only cover the things they’re responsible for, such as their property, common areas, and the outside/physical structure of your condo. In most cases, your personal property isn’t covered by the association’s insurance policy.

Condo insurance (or condominium insurance) covers your belongings, the interior of your unit, (including any upgrades like new granite countertops and custom cabinets), injuries at your place, and more. Without condo insurance, you’d have no coverage for these things.

Flood:
Give your home more protection, so you have peace-of-mindFor many homeowners, flood insurance is an essential extra layer of protection.

Adding flood insurance to your insurance package means you’re covered if groundwater rises and floods your home—a situation that isn’t usually covered by home policies.

Homeowners:
Find the best homeowners insurance for your property
Homeowners insurance is designed to protect you from the things that can damage your home, personal property, or hurt you financially. It covers wind/hail damage, fires, lightning, theft, and more. Plus, standard policies cover injuries that occur on your property and lawsuits against you, such as someone suing you because they were hurt at your home.

When you get your free homeowners insurance quote, many of your coverages will be automatically included. Plus, you can add even more. Get a quote today – we have expert agents standing by to guide you through your choices.

Landlord:
Your rental property isn’t standard and your insurance policy shouldn’t be either. You need specialized coverage that will take care of the things that matter to you as a landlord. We offer insurance that specializes in landlord insurance and understands what’s important to landlords.

Mobile Home:
Protection that’s specific to your home.

Mobile home insurance is similar to homeowners insurance, but instead you get specialized coverage for your factory-built home. Whether you need manufactured home insurance or modular home insurance, Progressive can customize a policy to meet the needs of your property.

Renters:
Renters insurance covers your belongings and more
Protect your possessions and help pay for unexpected expenses with affordable renters insurance from Progressive. In addition to your belongings, renters insurance can pay for medical bills if someone is injured at your residence, and temporary living expenses if you’re forced to live elsewhere because your home is uninhabitable.

While home insurance isn’t mandated by law in any state, your lender will typically require proof of home insurance before you can move into your new home. Even if your home is paid in full, you certainly want to insure what is likely your most valuable asset, not to mention the roof over your head.

Here are some notable coverage exclusions on standard homeowners policies:

  • Earthquakes: Your home insurance policy won’t cover earthquakes, but you may be able to purchase a separate policy or endorsement for earthquake coverage in certain states.

  • Floods: Home insurance generally won’t cover water damage from the outside of your home, but you may be able to buy specialized flood insurance

  • Mold and mildew: While mold or other bacteria caused by something accidental is typically covered, home insurance won’t cover mold from neglected maintenance or water leaks.

  • Termites: Termite infestations are viewed as preventable and won’t be covered under your home insurance.

Like homeowners insurance , condo insurance covers your belongings, injuries on your property, and temporary living expenses. The main difference, however, is that damage to the outside of your home, including exterior walls and garages, won’t be covered under condo insurance. Also, your condo policy may not offer liability protection against injuries in the common areas (hallways, parking lots, etc.) of your condo complex.

We agree with the National Flood Insurance Program—everyone should have flood insurance, especially if you’re in an area that has a high flood risk. You might even be required to have it if you’re at high risk.

Here’s why the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) recommends flood insurance to everyone:

The situations that cause flooding—heavy rain, melting snow, severe coastal weather—can happen anywhere. In fact, one in five flood insurance claims comes from someone in a low—or medium-risk area.

The amount of coverage needed primarily depends on two factors:

  • How much personal property do you have? Taking a home inventory can help you determine the combined worth of all your stuff. For example, if your belongings total $30,000 in value, then you need at least that much in personal property coverage.
  •
  • What is your net worth? If you’re liable for someone else’s injuries or property damage, you need enough liability coverage to cover what you have to lose. For instance, if your assets add up to $100,000, you need at least that much in liability coverage.
